The Treasure of the Sierra Madre - Great Humphrey Bogart movie, probably one of his best roles

Watched 'Snow Piercer' last night.
Not sure if I would have paid for it in the theatre, but cool enough to watch at home.

Took the boy to see Dawn of the Planet of the Apes on Saturday. Great flick with great execution.
CGI is fucking amazing these days... there will be no need for bitchy, overpaid actors soon.

We're doing a coin toss between that and Transformers.

I watched Guardians of the Galaxy on opening night.
I went expecting it to bomb a little. It was fucking hilarious. Little to no cheese (on Sci-Fi standards), and just well done.

Marty - Cross another off my goal of seeing every file from the list of best pictures. Good, but dated, movie about life in the 1950's. Ernest Borgnine is a bachelor in his 30's who meets his soulmate in a plain looking girl.

I watched this week:
The Purge: Anarchy, Step Brothers and The Hangover part III. The Purge was pretty good. The other two movies were just hysterical.
We just watched 'Joe' with Nicholas Cage.
Pretty straight ahead story, but really good character piece. Watched 'Battleship' the other night. Yeah, it's exactly what you thought it would be like. Perfect for those nights you want to turn off your brain, throw a blanket over yourself and watch the screen saying 'Hee hee, thing go boom' |
