Right off the bat I have to say, The Mexican/Armenian war is going to be brutal. What a violent show last night. I get the feeling Shane is going to die saving Mackieââ¬â¢s life that is how he redeems himself. That rookie chick is going to end up in Dutchââ¬â¢s basement with a ball gag in her mouth. Mackieââ¬â¢s wife is going to leave California. Claudette is a dead woman, health issues.

Pretty exciting first show. The relationship between Vic and Acevada is one of the most interesting on TV.
How about that cute cop chick asking Dutch to fill her box??? That was a great line. Followed up by "packed tight"... Great stuff

I agree, that was one of most violent shows I've ever seen on TV. FX isn't pushing the envelope, they're jumping up and down on it and kicking it across the room.

In the season previews, Ronnie said he won't go down for Shane or Vic. I think he's going to be a major factor in what happens to those two.
Will it blend? That is the question.

Two for two in my book. Ronnie flashed a moment of being pissed when Vic gave the orders for the strike team. I was impressed that Billings was doing nothing but was sharp enough to solve a crime. He's always been presented as mediocre at-best and I liked seeing him show some smarts. Claudette should have knocked that punk out. I liked Dutch asking her how being a racist was working for her.

I get the feeling the Ronnie was pissed because Vic was riding with Shane and he was sent to babysit Julien.

One of the best lines in last night's episode.
I think the show "jumped the shark" a bit with the Billings thing. Here the guy is portrayed as a piece of shit slacker the past 2 seasons, then all of a sudden he has a flash of brilliance and solves a killing.
I know the phrase "even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while", but it still doesn't add up.

Claudette put Ronnie in charge of the Strike team. He's supposed to be giving the orders.

Ronnie was like a mute the first couple of seasons but has picked up the slack since Lem's death. I read that we were going to see Lem again in flashbacks.

I couldn't even remember Ronnie's name for the first 3 seasons. He was way in the back. Only memorable moment was getting his face burned on the stove. I don't think he was intended to be a main character.
I've also noticed that Julian has a much smaller part in the later seasons. Now that he's on the Strike team, he's like the early season Ronnie.
