Marty Friedman turning Japanese

I'm sure I'm late to the party on this, but I was watching Japanese television and was stunned when Marty Friedman suddenly came on as a music show host, speaking entirely in Japanese. Looked it up and apparently he's been studying Japanese since leaving Megadeth and relocated to Tokyo. I didn't know all this.
