Yard work is killing me
#41
Hooch Wrote:I have a neighbor like this and get some letter or another every other year. I'm expecting another soon since my yard is an abomination right now due to three straight busy/away weekends.

Not to mention it's only May, give the weather a chance to get nicer before expecting people to be outside doing crap. It rained all day today, tomorrow is supposed to be nice and then another full day of rain on Thursday.

I'm pretty sure I know which neighbor complained, there's a douchebag that lives behind me. They moved in a few years ago and they just suck. His wife (fucking HUGE, by the way) is always screaming at the kids in a shrill ass voice. I can be in the house with the windows closed and I can hear the bitch yelling. It's a really quiet neighborhood otherwise, the two neighbors next to me are older couples who I occasionally make small talk with if I I don't get in the house fast enough.

I have young families on both sides of me. Rigt across the street is a woman in her 60s that lives alone her yard is a wreck. Fallen branches everywhere and leaves. You know what no of us give a fuck! Its not our yard and she is a nice lady. I grew up in the projects around crackheads, thieves and lunatics. I could give a fuck if someone has a pile of sticks in their backyard

I have very old women on both sides of my, and an old couple across the creek from me. All original owners for over 40 years. We bought from an original owner. they all take really nice care of their properties. We really don't talk to them very often. When they start dying off, or moving to FL or the nearest nursing home, they'll start selling to younger couples and maybe we'll have new friends.

It is easy to talk care of you property when you have a normal lot. When you have an acre or two of trees and crap it gets expensive and difficult to keep up. We bust out the chainsaws every spring. A retiree just cant do it.

I can relate Speng....we have 5 acres about half wooded. We took down 2 huge maples that were endangering our roof...now I have a huge cleanup... but the good thing is we also burn wood for heat in the winter :)...and maple is excellent for that. I'm also a retiree (military) ....and going to be forced into a second retirement this summer.
