Vh1 Top 100 Hard Rock Songs.
#1
Yesterday, I found myself transfixed by VH1's multi-part show, Top 100 Hard Rock Songs. I didn't sit and watch the whole 5 hours, but I did watch about the middle 2 hours, catching songs 60-21 (about).

It was interesting and I heard some great insight from the performers, as well as how other artists felt about particular songs.

But this is what I want to know, here is VH1's list:

No question there are some GREAT songs on it. But what would you leave off? What would you add? Keep in mind that it should probably be something that they have, or can get a video of, being VH1 and all.

For my money, I think it's missing a Dire Straights song, maybe Sultans of Swing, and I love that they have a Rainbow song on there, but it should have been All Night Long (fantastic video) instead of Stone Cold.

And I would drop the Korn song and the Epic song, I'm not sure that's even hard rock.

Let's hear what you would drop/add. Where do your musical tastes lie?

I love Sultans of Swing but it is not hard rock. As far as Rainbow goes they screwed the pooch. Man on the Silver Mountain or Since You Been Gone are much better representations of the band. If they needed to take something from the Mtv era Power and Death Alley Drive are much better songs and videos from the Straight Between the Eyes album (this was before Cds). Any list that says Welcome to the Jungle is a better song than A Whole Lot of Love cant be taken seriously. These lists alway suck.

But it was a blast to watch. The rankings didn't matter nearly as much just watching the clips and listening to what the different artists had to say about them.

Photograph by Def Leppard is hardly a "Hard Rock" song. They did a lot of hard rock, and then they met Mutt Lang...

Also, that list seems to flop back and forth between artist-title and title-artist formatting. Hard to read.
