What did you watch this weekend?
One in the Chamber - Laughably bad, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Dolph Lundgren play paid assasins in Prague. Cuba can't play a bad ass and he spends a fair amount of the movie stalking a woman. It was straight to video for most of the world, for some reason it only had a theatrical release in Poland and South Korea. How it managed to play at the Cannes Film Festival is a head scratcher.

Germany Year Zero - It was shot in Berlin shortly after the war, depressing story about a boy and his family trying to survive

Argo - excellent movie, they really captured the look of the 70's

Stoned - It is a Brian Jones bioflick. Acting was bad and the flow was weird but I did learn a few things about the Stones I never knew about. There was no Rolling Stones performed music in the whole move with the exception of a cover of "You Can't Always Get What You Want" at the end of the flick. Not sure if the producers couldn't absorb the licensing fees or if the Stones wouldn't licence music to them.

The Best Years of Our Lives - Three guys back from WWII trying to adjust to civilian life....it was good.

It won a bunch of Oscars in 1947, including best picture

Buck Privates - It's a pretty funny (for the time) Abbot and Costello movie.

Red Tails - I was really expecting more from the movie, what a let down. I'd like to say the dogfight scenes saved the move but they weren't anything special

Battleship: Not as bad as I thought it'd be, not what you'd call good but not really awful either...considering it's a movie based on a board game

Hall Pass - Yeah, it sucked

Project X - What a bad film. Unless you are a high school boy there is no way to enjoy this film. The coming-of-age premise of high school geeks throw a party to become the cool kids has been beaten to death.
