Sullivan's Travels - I really enjoyed it, a guy becomes a hobo and travels...what's not to like? Plus it's from 1941, that gets bonus points from me.


Abbot and Costello Meet Frankenstein - They're always good for a few chuckles, another solid, goofy movie from the pair

From Here to Eternity - I've been meaning to catch it for a long time, really good movie. I can see why it won Best Picture in 1953. It follows the lives of several people living on an army base right before the attack on Pearl Harbor. I've always had a thing for Donna Reed, so it also had that going for it.

I watched the Red Dawn remake, not bad better than the original.

Are you just testing to see if people are paying attention? I haven't seen it, but I can absolutely declare that the original was exponentially better than the remake.

Not kidding man. Better action sequences, better plotline, the acting was better. It was more technology driven which was cool.

How can you make a statement like that after stating you haven't seen the movie? You might be caught up in 1980s nostalgia, the original was so cheesy.

Silent Night - Not the slasher movie. It's a Hallmark Channel original movie from 2002, starring Linda Hamilton. It's set during WWII, the Battle of the Bulge, and both American and German soldiers take refuge with her and her son on Christmas Eve. It's based on true events, it's pretty good.

Saw The Hobbit with the boy on Saturday. Very good again. Smaug looked pretty badass.

I'll Be Seeing You - Another WWII set at Christmas. The guy is a GI back in the States after suffering "shell shock". The chick is released from prison (she killed someone) for ten days to celebrate Christmas. They meet on a train and the predictable ensures, I'm always amazed how quickly people fell in love back in the 1940s. It wasn't bad, you have to keep in mind that people needed to see feel good shit like this in 1944.

Notorious - My favorite part was after a totally drunk Ingrid Bergman gets pulled over while driving drunk. Cary Grant tried to get her to slide over to the passenger seat of the car. She freaks out, he grabs her, she struggles and his body blocks the camera as her beats her unconscious. They used to get away with all kinds of shit.
