I was in charge of 20 mexicans in a shop sanding at one point, you can grow to despise a DA in a very short period of time.

Placed my order for finishing materials today. As per the trend of this project, I changed my mind on how I want it to look again. With all the time and money already put into this damn thing, might as well finish strong and make it badass. My original estimate and budget has gone out the window. It's getting retarted now.

The day after this stuff arrives, I'll be playing through it. I'll be staining and putting the first coat of clear on tomorrow.

If everything is right in the world, I'll be 100% finished by this coming Tuesday or Wednesday.

Yeah you should try and take the paint off a new guitar neck a few times ,one of the worst sanding operations to do ever. So you spent a couple extra dollars to make it fancy , really? That is going to be something to put in your will.

I didn't mean it like that. I just didn't like the burlap and wood trim idea anymore. The real grill cloth and piping will make it look much better.  

This isn't the first guitar cabinet I've ever built, but it will damn sure be the nicest.

I was just yammering about that it is a project and shit comes up that add to the budget almost always. You are doing all the hard work and getting to keep the end result so you should just pretty much ignore anything anyone else says unless it might be something that will improve what you are doing.

Had to touch up that front a little, but she is stained.  It's not what I would call perfect, but it's a bit late to go back and sand again. Once the clear goes on it'll change a little. The grain should pop out a little more.

This is no bullshit. When sanding on the front or back edged with the palm sander, it's starts resonating. When you get towards the center it almost starts ringing. 

I like to think that means something is very right with it.

I really didn't want to show this baffle because of how my jigsaw treated it. The grill cloth I have coming with cover it anyways. The only part you will be able to see is the top 7" of it.

The top laver of that birch is extremely thin, and makes it hard to work with. I should have thought of that before I went cutting on it. It doesn't hurt anything functionally, but it did make me want to cut it in half with a chainsaw...
