Last night I said "With all the good things happening lately, I'm sure the universe is going to drop a bomb on me soon."
I was right.
My car blew a hose and subsequently overheated and died today.
Motherfuckin' balance of the universe, man.

A hose is an easy fix. If you did not try to drive it afterwards, warping the heads or fucking up the thermostat. What kind of car?

I totally fucked the engine. It's a CR-V.
New car time.

That sucks, man. Its funny how every once in awhile the universe decides to fuck with people.
Whatever you do, don't buy a Prius.
Trust me, I'm a medical professional.

That sucks. Did you drive it long after the hose blew?

I didn't find the blown hose until after, so yes. Rookie mistake for sure, but the car did have over 250k on it, so it's not like it was brand new or anything.

A CR-V with only 250K miles on it? It was just a baby!

Those idiot lights and gauges are there for a reason. FYI.
Because I said so.

I hate the vagueness of idiot lights. My check engine light came on awhile back so I consulted the manual, it could be almost anything. It turned out to be a vacuum leak, eventually I had it narrowed down to the gas cap needing to be cleaned.
Of course the dealership wanted $100 and hour to diagnose the problem. I declined, but I had them get the error code from the computer and I did some research online.
