MGM Grand at Foxwoods Welcomes R. Kelly

r-kellyWith a career that spans more than 15 years and a bevy of awards — including Grammys, BETs, Billboards, and Soul Trains — to his name, R. Kelly has long been considered the undisputed king of R&B. Now his highness is ready to hit the stage at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods on October 8 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $45, $60, and $75, and are on sale on August 21 at 9 a.m.

The Chicago native’s solo career began in 1993 with the release of “12 Play.” Since then, he’s been a prolific recording artist, putting out a string of successful albums including the self-titled “R. Kelly,” the double album “R.,” “Chocolate Factory,” and his most recent album, 2007’s “Double Up.” Kelly’s hit singles include “Bump n’ Grind,” “Sex Me,” “I Believe I Can Fly,” “I’m Your Angel” featuring Celine Dion, “Ignition,” and “Snake.” His latest single, “Number One” featuring Keri Hilson, was released at the end of July.

Kelly won three Grammy Awards in 1998 for Best R&B Song, Best R&B Male Performance, and Best Original Song from a Soundtrack for “I Believe I Can Fly.” He’s also the recipient of two American Music Awards, six Billboard Awards, and eight Soul Train Awards, among many other accolades.

Never content to rest on his abundant laurels, Kelly has also lent his talent to a host of other artists, working with the likes of Aaliyah, Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, LL Cool J, Wyclef Jean, Usher, Ludacris, Kid Rock, and Snoop Dogg over the course of his extensive career.
