Chem-Pak Inc. has issued a recall for one production batch of Finger-Ease Guitar String Lubricant due to a contaminant in the product that poses a risk of skin irritation. The recalled product is a clear aerosol spray packaged in a white steel can with a black cap, featuring a brown guitar image and the words “Tone Finger Ease Guitar String Lubricant” on the label. The can also includes a red horizontal stripe and is marked with the production batch code and model number 220B, lot code 106824, printed on the bottom. Approximately 21,130 units of the affected batch were sold between March 2024 and May 2024 at Sweetwater, Guitar Center, U.S. Band & Orchestra Supplies stores, and online retailers like Amazon.com, MusiciansFriend.com, and StLouisMusic.com.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled product should immediately cease use and contact Chem-Pak for a free replacement. It is important not to empty the product before disposal or pour it down any drain. Instead, consumers should mark the bottom of the can with the word “Recalled” and the date in permanent marker, take a photo of the marked can, the product’s model number and lot code, and a photo of the product disposed of in the trash. These photos should be submitted through Chem-Pak’s website to receive the replacement.
