After adjusting the pups and plugging it in I have to say this guitar sounds good. 2 push/pulls for series/parallel( I think that is how it is wired) The grippy notched speed knobs are nice did not think I would like them of course.Don't really care for the off brown (creme wtf ?) mounting rings and toggle label. Graphtech nut isn't the Tusq XL but it is fine. You can see router marks on the top of the headstock which is just pure lazy and no attention to detail. Crank them out as fast as you can makes more profit of course. There is a long checklist and if 3 of the strings are out of intonation by a large margin how can you check that box on the QA list ? Really bothers me to pay (highly) for the Gibson name and not get an immaculate perfect guitar 100% of the time? All around it is a good guitar and when I get done with it the only thing it will ever need is some big fat SS frets in 10 years or so. 490 pups sound good have no issues with them at all , unlike the last SG that sounded horrible with them until a pro adjusted them properly. Most likely operator error , the previous owner thought he should be turning pole pieces because he was smart or something ?
