There are some movies that you just know suck without seeing them. This is one. I'll eventually see it I'm sure, but its along the same lines of the remake of Footloose - it just can't compare... not saying that the first was "good" just that the remake can't hold a candle to it.

Silent Night - Not the slasher movie. It's a Hallmark Channel original movie from 2002, starring Linda Hamilton. It's set during WWII, the Battle of the Bulge, and both American and German soldiers take refuge with her and her son on Christmas Eve. It's based on true events, it's pretty good.

Saw The Hobbit with the boy on Saturday. Very good again. Smaug looked pretty badass.

I'll Be Seeing You - Another WWII set at Christmas. The guy is a GI back in the States after suffering "shell shock". The chick is released from prison (she killed someone) for ten days to celebrate Christmas. They meet on a train and the predictable ensures, I'm always amazed how quickly people fell in love back in the 1940s. It wasn't bad, you have to keep in mind that people needed to see feel good shit like this in 1944.

Notorious - My favorite part was after a totally drunk Ingrid Bergman gets pulled over while driving drunk. Cary Grant tried to get her to slide over to the passenger seat of the car. She freaks out, he grabs her, she struggles and his body blocks the camera as her beats her unconscious. They used to get away with all kinds of shit.

Stalag 17 - Set in a German POW camp, the prisoners try to figure out who's the traitor in their midst. It was ok. William Holden won the Oscar for best actor, he played a total dick.

Finally got around to watching Iron Sky. Epic doesn't begin to cover it.

Doubt - Excellent movie. It's set in 1964, Meryl Streep is the principal at a Catholic school who suspects a priest (Philip Seymour Hoffman) is molesting an altar boy.

I totally agree. It's a shame it's somewhat unknown. I saw a trailer for it a while back on an older DVD, that was the first I'd heard of the movie.
I see it was nominated for a bunch of awards, it should have won some Oscars.
