Redskins have out clause in McNabb’s new contract

Nothing is straightforward about Donovan McNabb these days. It turns out the $40 million he is supposed to be guaranteed in his new contract could turn out to be a mere $3.5 million.

McNabb’s agent, Fletcher Smith, clarified some of the details of McNabb’s deal Tuesday. He says while the contract is worded so that it has “$40 million in guarantees,” the Redskins do have an option to cut McNabb at the end of the season with no further money due.

McNabb has been given $3.5 million this year as part of the new contract, but the rest of the five-year, $78 million package would come to naught if the team decides to cut ties.

8-Year-Old Jets Fan Tackled by Drunk Browns Fan

An eight-year-old New York Jets fan was allegedly tackled by a drunk Cleveland Browns fan after Sunday's game, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

The boy's mother wrote to the paper detailing what reportedly happened.

"We knew there would be hecklers, but never would I have thought that my son would be called an expletive to his face or have hot dogs thrown at him. But the worst was when he was tackled by a drunken adult male in the parking lot," Danielle Brennan wrote to the paper.

The youngster reportedly scraped and bruised ankle after being struck by the older fan in a parking lot near Cleveland Browns Stadium.

The Cleveland Browns have reached out and expressed their concern to the family about the incident.

A team spokesman said the Browns contacted the boy's family on Wednesday and offered "anything we can do" after hearing about the "unfortunate" incident.

The New York Jets have offered to fly the family to New York to watch a Jets game from a suite, but they declined.

The Jets defeated the Browns in overtime 26-20.
