I have a Cisco DPC 3825 cable modem (Cox). When the PC goes into sleep mode, the wireless is doing the same. Is there a modem setting I can change to keep this from happening?
I think this is the cause of my PS3 losing the connection. The router light goes from green to yellow.
Walk me through a solution, please.

, I DID do a 'net search. It didn't help.
Because I said so.

That's weird, you wouldn't think the PC going to sleep would have any bearing on the cable modem. I'm guessing you already poked around in the modem settings?
I found this, not sure if it's something you're already read:

Right click on the wireless icon and choose network and sharing center > change adapter settings > right click on the adapter and choose properties > configure > power management and uncheck the allow computer to turn off this adapter setting. There's no reason why your pc going into sleep mode would cause the modem to go offline or the xbox. It should only effect the PC's network connection and not the modems connection to your cable or the xbox connection to the modem.

I poked around, but I'm relatively new to the cable modem. I did not have this issue with the DSL modems. No, they had different issues.
I was replying to the previous post. I'll try that later. :thanks:, 'dog.

Done. We'll see if it works. After all, the PC is connected via Ethernet cable.

Well, I haven't noticed the modem light going yellow, but the ps3 still occasionally loses the connection to the psn.
