Hold on! Is there V and H in that name? V? H? VH? Well, yep, there sure is. While I'm no Eddie clone, I've become a sucker for Eddie-themed pickups. The ones I've tried so far are all good "rock" pickups with a lot of variety. I ran across this particular pickup a few years back. And I foolishly...

This terrific concert happened exactly a year ago, 9/25/14, and it is a revelation.  Opening with  “Ghost,” the splendid first cut from Slash’s 2010 solo disc (with the Cult’s Ian Asbury on vocals for that release,) here it unfolds like a hard rock version of Roxy Music’s classic “Manifesto,” plodding as the intensity builds.  With Myles Kennedy on vocals,...

You don't have to be a John Petrucci fan to appreciate a good pickup. But you can appreciate Petrucci's experience with fitting his tone into the dense layers of a band's big sound. From tight riffing to smooth legato leads to complex chords, this has it covered. I've tried the LiquiFire in a few guitars over the years and it's...

The Diary of a Teenage Girl features an open-minded sexual awakening, but it is complicated by happening via an affair. As Minnie, Bel Powley is refreshingly frank and straightforward in bringing to life female sexual desire. But it is hard to be thrilled by her story.
