It looks like Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been accused of sexual assault again. Big Ben was last accused of sexual assault in 2009. In that case Andrea McNulty is suing Ben for an alleged 2008 sexual assault that took place in Reno, Nevada. That case was never pursued criminally and the civil case is still pending.
With these new charges it looks like Andrea just got a pay day. It will be very hard to defend a sexual assault lawsuit with a new one on the books.
A TMZ update says that the alleged assault took place in the bathroom at Capital City, a nightclub in Milledgeville. Capital City is described on it’s website as the place for the young people of Milledgeville and its surrounding area to gather.
TMZ reports that the alleged assault took place early Friday morning at Capital City and that the alleged victim has been treated and released.
Looks like Jake Delhomme hit the free agent market at the right time. All eyes will now be on NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to see how he responds to this situation. It will also be interesting to see how The Steelers organization handles these new charges. If Ben Roethlisberger was a backup quarterback it is my guess he would already be cut by The Steelers and sanctioned by the NFL.
