Is Microsoft Xbox 720 Finally Confirmed?

Develop Magazine has reported that the next generation of Microsoft Corporation (Public, NASDAQ:MSFT) Xbox console prototype devkits have been spotted on desks at Electronic Arts.

However, Eurogamer has learned from sources that an E3 2011 reveal, open or closed door, is ‘highly unlikely’.

In addition, both Microsoft and Electronic Arts have declined comment.

This would, however, put the Xbox 720 (or whatever the console will be called) at 2013, since a reveal would be likely at E3 2012, just as Nintendo will be showing off the next-gen Wii this year at E3.

(Thanks, Eurogamer, via Strategy Informer.)

[UPDATE: Electronic Arts says that their having next-gen Xbox devkits are total fabrication.]
