Last July, Bobby Kotick stated that the termination of the Guitar Hero license would not be permanent, stating that the publisher was “going to use new studios and reinvent Guitar Hero.” New rumors have arrived as an Activision source claims that Guitar Hero will return sometime during the holiday season of 2012.
The source claims that the new Guitar Hero title will be announced a few weeks before E3 2012, and that the game itself will debut at the videogame convention in Los Angeles.
Guitar Hero was put on hiatus during a spate of downsizing by Activision in February, where other titles like True Crime: Hong Kong were cancelled and the DJ Hero 2 development team was disbanded.
