Evans Premium Lager, the craft beer company that produces Evans Original, Evans Black and Evans Light lagers, continues to garner accolades for its premium lagers. Having won two more awards on July 31st, 2012, this time bronze medals at the United States Open Beer Championship in Atlanta, GA for Evans Original in the Premium Lager category, and for Evans Light in the Light Beer category, the Evans brand continues to earn peer acceptance for the quality of their beers.
The 2012 United States Open Beer Championships, the only brewery competition to include professional breweries and award-winning home-brewers, announced the winners on July 31st, 2012, and had more than 1,650 beer entries.
“Adding to our string of wins, now 5 in total, is truly astonishing,” Evan Rapport, co-founder of Evans Premium Lager, was quoted, as he savored the taste of the 4th and 5th win for the Evans brand in 2012.
In business for less than 2 years, Evans Premium Lager may be on track to win more awards than any other beer brand on the market for such a short period of time. In five competitions in 2012, with well over an estimated 6,000 entrants, Evans Lager has won more awards than any other Orange County, CA based brand. “For Evans Premium Lager, this is another surprising achievement. Other breweries produce many more beer styles, increasing the chance of winning an award. We have three. And we keep winning,” beamed Evan Rapport, the namesake of the beer.
The Evans brand’s 1st victory of the year was on March 1st, 2012 with a win for their Evans Black in the U.S. Beer Tasting Championship, where they garnered “Best Dark Lager in California .” A total of 435 beers from 134 breweries’ beers was entered.
And on April 16th, 2012 they earned their 2nd victory of the year at the Denver International Beer Competition, where Evans Original won a Bronze Medal for Light Lagers / Ales.
A prestigious Silver World Beer Cup® for the Evans Original was won in May at the World Beer Cup® held in San Diego in the American-Style Premium Lager or Specialty Lager category. “With close to 4,000 entries, that win really got our attention,” reported Evan Rapport when discussing the awards won in 2012.
When asked what’s up next for the Evans brand, Evan Rapport responded, “Distribution, distribution, distribution. Making an award-winning beer is great, but getting our brand in the hands of the beer buying public and letting them decide, that is even better.”
Tres Hermanos LLC owns and markets the Evans brand in Orange, LA, Riverside and western San Bernardino Counties. The Evans brand is distributed in San Diego County by John Lenore, and in the High Desert by Trent Beverage.
