Playdead’s next game will be “more weird” than the developer’s breakout game, Limbo, and it’s already shaping up to be “crazy good”. This was revealed in an interview with the Danish developer’s boss Dino Patti. “I think it looks crazy good,” Patti told Eurogamer. “I’m really proud of it already. I know the art is not fully there yet, but...

My preview of Max Payne 3 is now live on Strategy Informer. Here is a taste of the preview: Max Payne was released ten years ago on PC, the PlayStation 2 and the original Xbox. Whilst it was a standard third-person shooter with unbelievably cheesy dialog, it was a smash hit because of its standout technical innovation: bullet time. This...

I've hinted at this before in previous reviews, but to me Boardwalk Empire sometimes comes across as less of a cohesive series and more like a collection of beautiful, detail rich vignettes. This episode in particular felt very disjointed, as if there was no consistent, unifying theme throughout it. I know I watched the episode, but at the end...

Poor, tortured Shane. In order to get the medical supplies back to the house in time to save Carl (or perhaps, just save himself), he sacrificed Otis to the zombies. It was a harsh decision that echoed back to what Lori and Rick argued about: Is life worth living if you spend all your time barely surviving? Does that...

Rockstar has finally confirmed Grand Theft Auto V, and is promising a trailer on November 2. No other info has been revealed. Expect it to be released for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Jonah Falcon is a blogger for TMRzoo and GameStooge.com and covers all gaming consoles and platforms including Sony Playstation 3, Microsoft XBOX 360, Nintendo Wii, Sony...

I am sorry for my continued Boardwalk Empire ignorance. I really should go back and watch the entire first season, because I'm often confused with the plots, storyline and characters. This season seems to be moving along at a very slow pace as well, and I'm curious to see if season one moved along as deliberately as this one....

The first two episodes of this season seemed slower and more thoughtfully paced to me than last season, which was a little frenetic at times. The Walking Dead, like the zombie hordes populating the show's sets, seems to do its best work at a slow gait. This week, Rick and Shane take the wounded Carl back to a farmhouse,...

This week features a spirited debate between Jonah Falcon and Paul S. Nowak on the Catwoman DLC story below. There is no Gaming Flashback, but there is the following news items: The Lund Report: September 2011 NPD Catwoman requires online pass to play in Arkham City DICE: Battlefield 3 is ‘mission accomplished’ despite beta concerns EA defends cop killing in Battlefield 3 Legit Forza...

I have been going a bit nutty with the Jim Beam Devil's Cut posts these days but I absolutely love this bourbon. Devil's Cut uses a process that extracts the very last drops of bourbon out of the oak barrels. This produces a rich oaky bourbon with wonderful vanilla undertones. It is those undertones that got me thinking. I have...

It is that time of year again. The northern winds are starting to blow and the days get darker and colder. Unless you are drinking under a bridge or participating in Occupy Wall Street drinking outdoors will soon be a distant memory. As pigskins get snapped and leaf blowers get revved we find ourselves looking for alehouses and...
