It wouldn’t be a launch of a Bethesda title without day one bug reports and it seems The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is no exception. There are reports of degraded textures when playing from the Xbox Hard Drive as opposed to running the game from disc. The ironic part is that Bethesda had advised players install the game since it heavily uses caching when running off the disc.
It should be noted that some users are also reporting the same issue on the PlayStation 3, others are saying it happens when playing from disc as well. A further iteration is that it may appear on some models of Xbox but not others.
Bethesda was made aware of the bug several days before release and blamed it on piracy at first. Now that commercial versions are exhibiting the same behavior they are promising a patch of some sort, but there is no ETA.
How about you? Have you seen the glitch? Which machine are you running?
