Epic Games and Microsoft have announced some free downloadable content for Gears of War 3 is now available on the Xbox Live Marketplace, sponsored by Paramount Pictures to promote their new Mission Impossible film.
Today, the free “Versus Booster Map Pack” includes five new maps available in social matchmaking playlists, featuring two brand new maps, Bullet Marsh and Clocktower, as well as Azura, Rustlung and Blood Drive from the “Horde Command Pack.”
Epic and Microsoft also announced an unlockable downloadable content pack as well. In order to unlock the DLC, players must watch the new Mission Impossible trailer on Marketplace then complete Gears of War 3 on Insanity difficulty before the 25th December. When that is accomplished, the “Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol Weapon Skin Pack” is unlocked, granting the player a “Ghost Protocol” Lancer, Hammerburst, Retro Lancer, Gnasher Shotgun and Sawed-off Shotgun.
For those who don’t watch the trailer, if they have already completed the campaign on Insane will automatically receive the weapon skin pack on the 31st December, so watching the trailer is for early access.
Other downloadable content will be coming in December as well, including the new campaign DLC “RAAM’s Shadow” out 13th December.
