Fuller’s Announces Wild River Double-Hopped Pale Ale

Using a unique blend of American hops imported from the West Coast of the USA, Wild River is the superb new beer from Fuller’s, London’s only remaining family brewer.

Wild River is a double-hopped pale ale, inspired by some of the finest craft brewers from the USA, bursting with citrus hop flavours that are sure to leave you wanting more.

Brewed to 4.5% ABV, this big beer uses some of the best known hop varieties from the West Coast of the USA; Liberty, Willamette, Cascade and Chinook.
“There has been a huge growth in recent years within the craft beer movement,” says John Keeling, Head Brewer at Fuller’s “and we wanted to create our own interpretation of these full flavoured hoppy beers.”

The American hops have been fully infused into the character of the beer through dry hopping methods, as well as initial and late copper hop additions. The principal aroma is of spicy grapefruit, but underneath there are some more wonderful tropical fruit notes coming through. These are followed through onto the palate, but the all-malt grist brings a balancing fullness to the spicy tang of the hops.

The beer finishes with a pronounced and assertive bitterness which, while a little challenging on first hit, soon develops into a very pleasant linger on the palate, demanding a follow on drink.

“The selection of these four fantastic hops, and the infusion of their individual flavours through an innovative combination of hopping processes has made this another exciting beer to work with,” continues John, “and it follows Black Cab and Bengal Lancer in adding to our impressive recent range of high-quality seasonal ales.”

As well as the standout pumpclip, Wild River is supported by a point-of-sale kit including ‘bear’ mats, eye-catching posters and floor stickers, as well as a real talking point at the pumps – an imitation bear trap for the back bar.

So hurry up and get to the bar now; Wild River Season has begun!
