“I’ve never seen some many middle fingers,” Tuck tweeted last night. “Wow. We just had a 7-maybe 8- year-old throw a beer at the bus. #greatparents. Not.”

This is about 5 minutes from me in my township...

72 year old man kills neighbor in street

Quote:A Folsom man is dead and his stepdaughter is clinging to life after they were ambushed outside of their Sylvania Avenue home by an angry 72-year-old neighbor Monday morning, police said.

Minutes after he was gunned down in the driveway of his home, 42-year-old Scott Robins gave police a “dying declaration,” saying he had been shot by his neighbor, James Dellavecchia, according to the affidavit of probable cause.

“It appeared (Dellavecchia) was waiting for Scott Robins to come out and he shot him,” said Ridley Township police Lt. Scott Willoughby.

The full story is some crazy shit. Sounded like the typical "neighbors who hate each other" story... until the one dude just up and killed the other one morning.

Pennsylvania's capital city voted to file for Chapter 9 bankruptcy protection on Tuesday as it faced a state takeover, according to media reports.

The City Council voted 4-3 to seek bankruptcy protection for Harrisburg, which has a debt burden five times its general-fund budget "because of an overhaul and expansion of a trash-to-energy incinerator that doesn’t generate enough revenue," Bloomberg Businessweek reported.

The bankruptcy means the city will lose state aid, but that is better than the proposed recovery plans, Councilwoman Susan Brown-Wilson said, according to Bloomberg.

Patty Kim, who voted against bankrupcy protection, said the city cannot afford the high cost of litigation that will likely ensue.

“The problem still exists that we still don’t have money, and we still haven’t moved one foot forward,” Kim said.

PHILADELPHIA — A missing Florida girl has been found safe in Philadelphia in the wake of the arrest of three people who allegedly held mentally disabled adults captive in a basement.

Benita Rodriguez, 15, was reported missing from her West Palm Beach, Fla., home on July 4, NBC Philadelphia affiliate WCAU reported.
According to NBC Philadelphia, Rodriguez had last been seen with Gregory Thomas Jr., whose father was among those arrested over the weekend in connection with the basement captive case.

Linda Ann Weston, a woman convicted in the starvation death of a man nearly 20 years ago, also was arrested. She is facing charges of kidnapping and false imprisonment for allegedly preying on four mentally disabled adults, locking them in a basement in northeast and wresting control of their Social Security disability checks. A landlord found them Saturday .

Weston was charged Monday with kidnapping, false imprisonment and other offenses, with bail set at $2.5 million after her landlord stumbled upon the four adults, all weak and malnourished, in a dank, foul smelling boiler room on Saturday

Since there will never be a basketball thread...

New Sixers owners cut ticket prices on first day in charge[/url]

Quote:The new Philadelphia 76ers ownership group was introduced Tuesday morning, but it’s wasting no time bringing change to the organization. One of these changes: a dramatic reduction in single-game ticket prices.

“I’m announcing today that going forward, we are slashing—and I mean slashing—ticket prices on individual game tickets on just under 9,000 seats at the Wells Fargo Center for each and every Sixers home game,” new Sixers CEO Adam Aron said, according to CSN Philly. “Indeed on thousands of seats each night, our ticket prices will be cut by 50 percent or more. This is not a sale or a promotion. These are our new ticket prices.”

I may actually bring my kid to games now that I don't have to spend a few hundred to do it.

A welcome home party for a teen released from juvenile detention resulted in gunshots and stab wounds for five people at the party.

The congratulations-for-getting-out-of-juvenile-detention party occurred on the 500 block of Hess Street in Bethlehem Saturday night, police told the Morning Call.

Reports of gunshots in that area brought police to find two people with stab wounds from a huge brawl that erupted on the street during the party. Police brought the two wounded to St. Luke’s Hospital and later discovered that three more people were stabbed and had gone to the hospital on their own.

Four adults and one 17-year-old juvenile were among the wounded, reports the Morning Call.

Bradley Cooper is from here. Very close to where I live now. I'm pretty sure he doesn't live there anymore though. Don't know if his family still does.
