Why would formula post a Dean guitar and expect to not get fucked with?

It was a cute pic of my 4yr old son gloriously unaware of how Dean's screwed themselves and admiring 3 examples of their best work. You know, the kind of thing my mom and cousins look at and actually read the comments.

I'm all for dildo grenades and buttsecks but not in that context.

Alright, I'll get more details out later, but I am way overdue with some thoughts. So here we go! Both pickups are F-Spaced as my Mockingbird sports a Floyd.

The Bridge
Well, if you read Devin's review, it's spot on. What's really amazing about this pickup is that the intense grind and distortion doesn't fuck up the articulation or string separation. You get gobs of intense, skull-crushing gain with no mud, no mess, and no lack of clarity between notes. And it cleans up really well like Devin said. Here's what I thought was really awesome: using your tone and volume knobs, you can get this pickup to do a lot. AND I MEAN A LOT! Sure it's not a PAF, but you can roll back the volume and get classic rock-like sounds. Impressive as most pickups with this kind of intensity are one trick ponies. I will say it is not as open as a lower output PAF, but that's kinda of expected. Still does a lot of great tones, no complaints here.

The Neck
I haven't played with it as much yet. It cleans up BEAUTIFULLY! It has the same great string separation and articulation. it won't get flutey like the "Sweet Child O' Mine" sound. But that's not what I wanted this pickup to do. it is great for neck soloing and clarity.

Final thought thus far is that this pickups are great for lower tunings considering the articulation and string separation. But standard tuning is great too!

Also, I managed to get my dirty, little hands on an Illuminator bridge pickup. No preamp, but it's not required. More on that one later.

Nice call Dave. I was going to get one of those for Christmas for my PRS Baritone but I've got other financial obligations that come first. There are only 2 guitar related things I want though and a Titan is one of them.

I've been dragging my ass on installing that new DiMarzio D-Activator bridge pickup, so as not to rain on our parade in the way that Flannel has been planning....in fact, imagine him twirling his moustache as he hatched his diabolical plan to do everything short of tying your review to a railroad track as a train approached.

You're gonna have to explain this one to me lol.

Ok... I'll write more on this later too, but I just plugged in the Illuminator bridge in my Agile AL-2000 (LP copy). H-O-L-Y S-H-I-T! I think I just found something I didn't even know was possible! Imagine a modern high-output humbucker made sweet love to a PAF. THIS WOULD BE THE OFFSPRING! Nice, balance, round and full sound, openness, tight lows, good mids, enhanced high end that doesn't get crackly like some high-output pickups, and can be easily modded for versatility with a tone and a volume. THAT IS THE ILLUMINATOR 6 BRIDGE! It's seriously fucking awesome guys! REALLY AWESOME! Seymour Duncan, eat your heart out!
