Go for it. that little grey maple test piece looks great.

As long as you don't dye it too heavily, it could look awesome. And even if you do dye it too heavily, you can always sand it back until you get the right shade.

Was not saying it's firewood.  I was suggesting the fretboard would look awesome if you could (gently) char the wood.  I'm sure it would totally fuck up everything else about that guitar, but you're doing something unique so you might as well go all the way.

My reply wasnt based on that just all of you as a whole :toast: I do like that roasted maple and the ol burn.

I fucked it and its impossible to sand it all out.........well not impossible just too much effort. So i am thinking i will just stain it black. I have had great results with this in the past so at least i know it will work.

Actually the fretboard part looks good its just the sides and back dont work too well in a light stain. Another shitter is all my side green dots get covered and Its almost like the plastic i used is porous.

So i think will ditch the dots and just go full black.

Shitty on the green dots getting fucked up. That shit was cool. Maybe you can just stain the back and sides black and keep the fretboard lookin' good.
