What a shit show The Bengals could turn out to be

"As the Bengals look for wide receivers, an interesting name has entered the mix. The Bengals and the Tennessee Titans have both offered a contract to former Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Matt Jones.

Ravens sign WR and killer Donte’ Stallworth

Quote:The Baltimore Ravens say they have signed wide receiver Donte’ Stallworth(notes) to a one-year contract.

Stallworth was recently released by the Cleveland Browns after being reinstated by the NFL following a one-year suspension. He was suspended for violating the league’s personal-conduct policy for a DUI vehicular manslaughter charge.

Stallworth served 30 days in a Miami jail for striking and killing a Miami construction worker with his car while driving under the influence of alcohol.

The Ravens announced the signing Wednesday.

The deal is worth $900,000 with an additional $300,000 in incentives.

“There was a time I felt the mistake I made was the end of the world for me,” Stallworth said in a statement. “I will never get that morning back. It weighs on me every day and will for the rest of my life. What I can do is move forward, try to be a better person, try to convince others not to do what I did and warn others about the dangers of drinking and driving. I have to show otherwise that what happened doesn’t reflect who I am.

its nice to know that I can get drunk, drive around for a while, and kill someone and make up for it all with a few bucks and a 30 day trip to jail.

oh... wait... thats only for famous people... I'd actually spend at least 10 years in sing sing.

Peppers gets released today. The Dolphins need a linebacker and he is without a doubt a Parcells type of player. The question is will they spend the money

No. 21 is done in San Diego: Chargers release LT

Quote:After nine mostly brilliant seasons, LaDainian Tomlinson(notes) was cut loose by the San Diego Chargers.

Slowed by injuries and age, Tomlinson would have been paid more to produce less in a Chargers offense that was turning toward the passing game, and on Monday one of the NFL’s best running backs was officially released.

“I told him that in the 26 years that I’ve been in this business, it was probably the hardest thing I’ve had to do,” team president Dean Spanos told The Associated Press. “I’m not close to a lot of the players, but there’s a handful that I’ve been close with, and he’s probably the closest. It was really difficult to tell him. But out of respect, I wanted to tell him earlier rather than later.”

I know they say he can do it, but I can't see how a guy who has played 8 seasons in the NFL exclusively as a defensive end can just convert to outside linebacker.
