Becky takes her shotLas Vegas, Nevada- January 5, 2010 – This past weekend BPONG.COM™ and the World Series of Beer Pong™ welcomed over 450 competitive Beer Pong teams from the United States, Canada, Ireland, England and Japan to the Flamingo Las Vegas, where they proudly presented The World Series of Beer Pong V™.

After 3,063 games, last year’s winners Ron Hamilton and Michael “Pop” Popielarski from New York’s Smashing Time came out on top, once again dominating the competition and winning the grand prize of $50,000.

“Considering the caliber of this year’s competition and the fact that every other team wanted to take the champions down, it’s astounding and incredible that Smashing Time repeated as this year’s winners of the WSOBP,” said, Billy Gaines, co-founder of The World Series of Beer Pong. “They played amazing beer pong during the entire event and more than handled the pressure of the national media spotlight, with outlets such as The Jay Leno Show and Maxim all in attendance. We can’t wait to see Ron and Pop try for the three-peat next year!”

The World Series of Beer Pong V was held from January 1-5, 2010 at the Flamingo Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Smashing Time ended their tournament series with a 19-1 record. The final game kicked off with the veteran voice of the MMA Bruce Buffer announcing the final two teams: Since Sliced Bread took on Smashing Time, who came out on topin a best-of-three game series. In dramatic fashion, Since Sliced Bread won the first game by one cup, Smashing Time took the second game by six cups and finished off the series win by one cup in the third and final game, sending them home with the grand prize of $50,000! Since Sliced Bread walked away with $5,000and the second place title.

“We take the sport very serious, we play at least 20 hours a week and compete in tournaments all over,” said Ron Hamilton of Smashing Time. “Smashing Time is all about in-your-face Beer Pong, taking care of business and proving how good we are. We play this sport for a living and winning The World Series of Beer Pong again and $50,000 proves that we are the best!”
