Airplane Star Peter Graves Died Sunday At The Age of 83

captainOveurPeter Aurness better known as Peter Graves died of a heart attack yesterday. His death will be mourned by millions. Graves was best known for his dramatic role on the TV series Mission Impossible. The Mission Impossible franchise is still alive and is getting ready to take its 4th run on the big screen with Tom Cruise.

Graves character Jim Phelps is now played by Jon Voight on the big screen. Jon Voight is best known for having magical semen after fathering Angelina Jolie.

Not only was Graves known for his iconic action and drama work, he also made his mark with comedies. Graves stared in the Airplane series as Captain Clarence Oveur with Leslie Nielsen. These movies launched a style of film satire that is still imitated.

Without Airplane I doubt we would have had Naked Gun or Scary Movie. It looks like the Wayans Brother owe their careers to this man.

Graves was the younger brother of actor James Arness best known for portraying Marshal Matt Dillon on Gunsmoke for 20 years. He also leaves behind wife Joan Endress, three daughters (Kelly, Claudia and Amanda) and six grandchildren.

It is nice to see after a week of Corey Haim news, someone naturally coming to the end of their career. There is no Corey Feldman to tell us how to spin this, no toxicology reports. Just a man with a long life and a great career. The only question left is who is going to host the TV show Biography when they honor the man that hosted Biography?
