Wild Card Saturday 2012 Picks, Predictions and Stone Cold Locks – Against the Spread, Totals and Money Line

Today is the kickoff of the 2012-2013 NFL Playoffs. Four standout out teams, but only two will continue and the other two will begin vacation early then they had hoped. Since the playoffs are so fun, I will be picking each game!  Let’s get too it.

Bengals @ Texans(-4):  This is a tale of two parts of the season. The Bengals appeared to be in a bad spot at 3-5 before they crushed the defending Superbowl champs 31-13 and haven’t looked back. Finished the season 7-1, the lone loss was a last second FG against Dallas. The Texans appeared to be the team to beat when they started out at 11-1, but they finished the season 1-3, all three losses where double digit losses. I am going to roll with the hot team for the upset win, not just the cover. Bengals +178 (2 Units).

Vikings @ Packers (-7.5): We all saw what happened last week. The Vikings held off the Packers at home to secure a playoff spot. The Packers were playing for a first round bye, but will now have to play in the first round and travel next week (If they make it that far). We all know what the Vikings key to success is. Play decent defense, run the heck out of the ball and keep turnovers to a minimal. I think this game is going to fall on the shoulders of Aaron Rodgers. He was amazing in Green Bays Super Bowl run, but he has not fared well in his other postseason appearances. Despite coming back from 31-10 against the Cardinals, Rodgers fumbled the ball on overtime and it was returned for a touchdown. He did throw for over 400 yards, 4 touchdowns and a pick, but it was a late mistake that doomed them. He was held to about 250 yards, two touchdowns and two turnovers in a losing effort to the Giants. We shall see which Rodgers shows up. I think the Vikings control the clock with their running game and game management, but it will not be enough.  i will take the Vikings to cover though. Vikings +7.5 -110 (2 units)
