Wide receiver to end prolific 13-year career that included four teams, NFL Network's Michael Lombardi reports.
Apparently the Eagles recently made him an offer, after he filed his papers. We'll see if it is a Favre-like retirement or not.
Yeah, Speng, I used Favre-like.

I didn't think this was a big enough deal to post, but then I read the reason why...
Vikings release OL Bryant McKinnie
Quote:Size is what helped Bryant McKinnie(notes) become a Pro Bowl offensive lineman for the Minnesota Vikings and the recipient of a 2006 contract extension that was close to $50 million. Size is what caused him to get cut by the team on Tuesday.
McKinnie showed up to Vikings training camp weighing nearly 400 pounds, 65 pounds above last season's official playing weight. Judd Zugland of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reported that McKinnie's girth was the "final straw" with the team. On Monday, the 31-year-old lineman was placed on the non-football injury list. The next day, he was gone.

Miami Dolphins coach Tony Sparano won't rule out the possibility of bringing in Brett Favre to compete for the team's starting quarterback job with Chad Henne and Matt Moore.

Only a couple of days after signing his rookie contract, Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara is out definitely with a broken foot, according to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post.
Specifically, Amukamara fractured the fifth metatarsal in his left foot.
Heââ¬â¢ll undergo surgery to repair the injury.
The nineteenth overall selection in the 2011 draft, Amukamara was the last unsigned first-round pick

If I recall correctly, Okung (last year's first picked/last signed) started his first season hurt also. Curse?

Green Bay Packers Pro Bowl linebacker Clay Matthews played half of the 2010 season and all of the postseason with a broken leg, the Green Bay Press-Gazette reported.
Matthews was listed on the injury report every week from Week 9 through the NFC Championship Game as probable with a shin injury, which in fact was a lower-leg stress fracture.

The Eagles have already penciled in his brother, that they just drafted, as the starting MLB. I don't know if that is good or bad.
