Tele Project
#1
Axe
Working on another Tele and am now just waiting for the neck to be delivered (Warmoth mailed it on Monday...so a trek across the Country right now.)

The body is Roasted Swamp Ash and has a super thin nitro finish in Mary Kay White. Pickups are Wilde Bill L45S & L48T.

The roasted body made the Mary Kay not so white as I'm use to Mary Kay White being on guitars...was initially going to go with a Parchment/Offwhite pickguard but now I'm not sure. Won't make the final decision until after the neck gets here (it is a 1 piece Roasted Quartersawn but I don't know how dark/light the roasting is yet.)

Thoughts? No pickguard? Or put a pickguard–what color?

Ha! The neck is in the hands of UPS at the moment lol Thanks! I really like it!

The body is under 4lbs and the shipping weight of the neck 1.6lbs, so this is going to a super light guitar.

I had a mate back in the early nineties that had a Canary Yellow Tele. Ive seen a few with bright colours , it seems to suit the Tele shape. White is sort of bright.

Canary Yellow eh? That is definitely bright! The Mary Kay White on Roasted Ash apparently turns out to not really be white at all. lol But it is a super thin nitro finish, so not sure how it will age and wear over time.

I have another white Tele that I like but it doesn't have the forearm contour nor stainless steel frets, so I wanted to try again.

Project update, neck came in and is the same color as the other Warmoth Roasted Maple I've received before...wish they offered the really dark ones BUT I won't complain as I really like Roasted Maple.

This one is Roasted Quartersawn with a Clapton V profile, has Stainless Steel medium jumbos. Should be completed by next week.

Hmm, so it happened again? It comes up on my end. I can't attach it because it is too big. Posted it here
