2009 NFL Offseason
Am I the only one surprised that Marvin Harrison hasn't been picked up yet? On another note I can't belive this wasnt bigger news

The man who sued Marvin Harrison, contending that the former Colts wide receiver had shot him last year, was in critical condition Tuesday after being shot seven times in Philadelphia.

Dwight Dixon, 33, told officers that he believed that Harrison was behind the latest shooting, according to a Philadelphia police source. According to the source, authorities are investigating whether Harrison, currently a free agent, is linked.

"Mr. Dixon told officers on scene that he had a dispute with Marvin Harrison," the source said of yesterday's shooting. "And Marvin Harrison probably hired someone to do this."

NYC grand jury indicts Burress on weapons charges

Quote:Former New York Giants star Plaxico Burress(notes) was indicted by a grand jury on weapons charges after shooting himself in the thigh at a Manhattan night club last winter, prosecutors announced Monday.

The indictment charged the 31-year-old Burress with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and one count of reckless endangerment, Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau said.

Burress’ former teammate, Giants linebacker Antonio Pierce(notes), was not indicted for his role in the incident.

The 31-year-old wide receiver faces up to 3 1/2 years in prison. He pleaded not guilty to weapons charges earlier this year and is free on $100,000 bail.

In most years, the arrest rate involving NFL players drops dramatically during training camp, when teams have the highest level of regular access to the guys who might, when left to their own devices, get into trouble.

But that's not the case for the Eagles, where starting defensive end Juqua Parker has been arrested for possession of marijuana during the early stages of preseason practice at Lehigh University.

According to the Morning Call, Parker was a passenger in a vehicle that had been stopped for a traffic violation. He allegedly was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Put him on the jackass team... if he plays this year. Andy has not been tolerant with this shit and usually cuts the offender.

The Packers looked pretty good last night against the Browns. I'm looking forward to seeing the new 3-4 defensive scheme in a real game.

Officially, Tom Brady has a "sore shoulder," the result of being crushed to the turf by massive Albert Haynesworth. It caused enough discomfort for him to spend quite a while on the bench flexing and rotating his throwing arm, trying to work out whatever kinks were there.

It could be nothing. It could be something. Actually, anything that involves Tom Brady is always something, especially in a season in which he's trying to come back from a major knee injury.

One thing is for sure... he'll be on the Pats injury report every week throughout the 2009 season.
