And also, +1 to what raph said. Maple fretboard all the way.

Yes sir, swamp ash indeed. I'm a big fan of the swamp ash.

Thanks dude, I think so too. I can't wait to put it together. Once everything arrives I will go AWOL for a few days as I shield it, assemble it and play it. I ordered my WLH set for it a few days ago too. This shit is gonna be my new drug.

Oh you're going for the WLH set? It's going to be awesome. I have the set in my McCarty (won them in a forum contest and I bought the guitar because I needed something to put the pickups in) and a neck one in my CE24 and they're all amazing sounding.

Yeah man, for years and years I've used the Jazz and Alnico II Pro sets. Before that I used 59's with Custom Custom and JB bridges. I've been dying to at least try the WLH set out and basically picked the humbuckers out before I decided on the neck of this guitar. It was another reason why it was so difficult for me to choose a roasted maple neck because I knew the safe bet for the WLH would be an IRW neck with either a IRW board or an ebony board.

At the end of the day I listened to some clips of all maple Les Pauls and decided if I can't make a WLH set work in a swamp ash body with a maple neck then I probably shouldn't be playing guitar.

I'd say that's true. I haven't played any of my WLHs in a few weeks but I wouldn't say they're so bright that it won't work with that wood combo.

One thing I really love about them is the split tones. Are you going to use push pulls in this guitar? It'd be kind of a shame not to just because of how good the split tones from those pickups are.

Oh yeah, I'm definitely using push/push volume pots to split them. I do that on all my humbuckers these days but I'm really excited for the WLH split. I hope I can coax a little twang out them with this wood combo.

I'm gonna have to say no to the double creme idea. This guitar will have all black hardware.
