SXLiquors, a unique startup company headquartered in Fort Lauderdale and launched in Miami, is expanding rapidly across Florida and plans to enter additional states and select international markets in the coming months. The company this week dramatically expanded its footprint from 80 leading restaurants, nightclubs and liquor stores in South Florida to nearly 1,000 such distribution points all across the state.

SXLiquors, which launched in June 2011 and delivers sexy drinks and cocktails that strongly resonate with women and other discerning drinkers, did so well in the limited South Florida market in which it was tested that Miami-based Southern Wine and Spirits fast-tracked the brand for mass distribution throughout the state. Within the past two weeks, SXLiquors was rolled out in Tampa, Jacksonville, Miami and Orlando. Read the rest of this entry »

As I mentioned in an earlier post, like millions of people around the globe my New Year’s resolution was to lose a bit of weight this year. Improving a fitness regime or weight loss is the number one New Year’s resolution. Unlike past years I have stuck to my guns it is almost February and I am still exercising and eating well. To date I am down 10 pounds and slowly losing the beer gut. Sadly this regime has me sans beer. Read the rest of this entry »

Those of you that follow this site know that we have been working with Jim Beam for the past few months. I want to personally thank Jim Beam for including us in their Bold Choices promotion. I have found myself making more Bold Choices lately and these choices are bringing me to some wonderful places.

The original Bold Choice Jim Beam helped me make was in regards to my guitar playing. I have been a Boston bread hard rocking guitar player all my life. Since visiting Nashville last year I have been in awe of my southern guitar playing counterparts. I have been truly inspired but their playing. Read the rest of this entry »

The Voting is Over My Jim Beam Bold Choice Has Been Made

Posted by Bruce Owens On November - 12 - 2011 2 COMMENTS

The masses have spoken. Two weeks ago I told you folks about Jim Beam’s bold choices promotion. Jim Beam is celebrating Bold Choices and the people that make them. In an era of cautiousness, bold behavior can be hard to find. So in what I feel is an effort to spice things up a bit, Jim Beam has taken to the web to find some “bold bloggers”. They approached me and asked about some bold choices and adventures I have always wanted to accomplish.

I gave you readers 3 choices. You voted for me to take up hockey and play goalie, videotape New Hampshire’s leave change from a hot air balloon or for me to buy a classic country guitar and take country guitar lessons. Read the rest of this entry »

Kid Rock and Devil’s Cut Send 5 Fans to Show in Atlanta

Posted by TMR Newswire On October - 25 - 2011 ADD COMMENTS

I wanted follow up on the post last week about what Jim Beam Devil’s Cut was doing over the weekend on Twitter.

Kid Rock and Devil’s Cut came together this weekend and scoured Twitter to find guys 21+ talking about their dull weekend plans. A handful of unsuspecting guys were sent a personalized video from @JimBeamOfficial with special instructions on how to “amp up” their night straight from a rock star who can unleash with the best of them – Kid Rock.

Five lucky fans were challenged to “Unleash Their Spirit” with Kid Rock – he dished out five all-inclusive VIP trips to his concert in Atlanta next month to Twitter users who were in most need of a bold night out. Read the rest of this entry »

I have been going a bit nutty with the Jim Beam Devil’s Cut posts these days but I absolutely love this bourbon. Devil’s Cut uses a process that extracts the very last drops of bourbon out of the oak barrels. This produces a rich oaky bourbon with wonderful vanilla undertones. It is those undertones that got me thinking.

I have a blackberry bourbon reduction I have been making for years. I was wondering what would happen if I upgraded the bourbon to Jim Beam Devil’s Cut? I was pleasantly surprised. This was the best this sauce has ever come out, here is the recipe. Read the rest of this entry »

Suds With Securb: Top Ten Dive Bars in America 2011

It is that time of year again. The northern winds are starting to blow and the days get darker and colder. Unless you are drinking under a bridge or participating in Occupy Wall Street drinking outdoors will soon be a distant memory. As pigskins get snapped and leaf blowers get revved we find ourselves looking for alehouses and taverns to take refuse in. Read the rest of this entry »

Jim Beam Creates a Twitter Buzz with the Hashtag #DevilsCut

Posted by Bruce Owens On October - 19 - 2011 ADD COMMENTS

I don’t have the whole story just yet but there is something going on at Jim Beam. Jim Beam has been promoting their new Devil’s Cut bourbon heavily since it’s release. This is a very cool new product.

Devil’s Cut uses a new process that extracts the very last of the bourbon out of the wood of the oak barrels. This creates an oaky, vanilla flavor that I found wonderful both neat and with cola. The Devil’s Cut and cola had a Vanilla Coke kind of vibe going on. So there is no need to say I am a fan. Read the rest of this entry »

Day of the Dead Cocktail Recipies from Espolón Tequila

Posted by TMR Newswire On October - 16 - 2011 ADD COMMENTS

Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), a holiday widely celebrated across Mexico and Latin America honoring the lives of friends and relatives who have passed, is gaining immense popularity in the United States. Each November 2nd, crowds dress in colorful costumes, don skeleton-like makeup, parade through the streets and erect decorative altars in remembrance of the dearly departed. The traditions of Day of the Dead are far and wide: pottery calaveras (Spanish for skulls) are painted bright colors, graves are adorned with yellow marigolds and glasses of Mexico’s national drink, tequila, are raised in celebration. Clontarf 1014 Poised For Victory

Posted by TMR Newswire On September - 6 - 2011 ADD COMMENTS

Clontarf 1014 Irish Whiskey – something a little different, even better, than “the usual,” there is a premium blended whiskey that flies just under the radar – Clontarf 1014. Having built a band of loyal followers and benefited from the growth in Irish whiskey, Clontarf 1014 is positioning itself to harry the “occupiers.” Enhanced packaging and promotional plans will set the stage for the millennial celebration in 2014 of one of Irelands milestone events, the battle of Clontarf in 1014.

By up-dating its name, from Clontarf to Clontarf 1014, the whiskey reminds people of one of the seminal events in Ireland’s long trek to independence. Clontarf is an area north of Dublin where a famous and decisive battle – the Battle of Clontarf – took place on April 23 in 1014 between the Irish and the Vikings, who had built and controlled Dublin. Under the leadership of High King Brian Boru, the Irish routed the Vikings in a tremendous battle. Read the rest of this entry »
