Maybe it is due the condensed free agency period or maybe it is due to the new rookie salary scales, but damn, these 2011 first round draft picks are dropping like flies. The highest two picks signed so far are A.J. Green of the Cincinnati Bengals and Von Miller of the Denver Broncos. When was the last time we saw a second overall pick signed so early in the process?
Miller and Green are joined by three other fellow first rounders that have already been signed; Aldon Smith (San Francisco 49ers), Tyron Smith (Dallas Cowboys) and Adrian Clayborn (Tampa Bay Buccaneers). Four of the top ten picks are signed and in camp already.
I’m now hearing that the Washington Redskins and Ryan Kerrigan have agreed to terms.
If the high picks are getting signed this quickly, the latter ones will be soon to follow. This means there is not much time left to enter our “First Picked/Last Signed” contest, where you can guess which first round draft pick will be the very last to sign and try your hand at winning a Sam Bradford autographed football.
Head on over to the contest entry page and make your selection now!
Once you have made your choice, you could call it a day and wait until there is only one first rounder unsigned… OR, you can come back tomorrow, and every day until the contest closes, to submit your entry again.
That is correct, you can enter EVERY day until there is only one unsigned draft pick remaining. How you wish to enter the contest is your choice. If you think you know exactly who will be the biggest pain in the ass, you can stack the deck and pick the same player every day during the entry period, or you can can try every player still unsigned each day until the end date. Once there is only one unsigned draft pick remaining, we will pull all of the correct entries out of the pool and select an entry at random as the winner. The strategy is yours to decide.
