The controversial Commando perk which was a pain in the sides of many players in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been eliminated from Modern Warfare 3, as revealed in a tweet by Infinity Ward community manager Robert Bowling.
When a gamer asked Bowling at his @fourzerotwo twitter account, “hey Robert what you mean by different melee system?? I swear if it’s like battlefield than I ain’t buying the game !!”, Bowling responded, “Its been balanced, plus Commando is no longer in the game. Beyond that, you’ll have to wait and see.”
The Commando perk was a third tier perk that allowed gamers to increase their melee range by 2 1/2 times, which can already make melee kills a lot easier and gamer tempers rise. If that weren’t enough, the Pro version of the perk allowed gamers to fall from any height and remain undamaged. Saying that the perk was a gamebreaker is putting it mildly.
It’ll be interesting to see which takes its place.
