The iPad, the latest innovation from Apple, was introduced to the world earlier this week by Steve Jobs himself. As always, the device was immediately embraced by Apple “fanboys”, and denounced by their “haters.” You can go to almost any major news site to find out what the Apple iPad can and cannot do… or still be confused as to whether it will have a camera or not. But what those sites will not answer is what everyone really wants to know:
The answer is both simple and disappointing to most hardcore adult entertainment/pornography fans… it’s the same way you can view it on an iPhone. The two biggest drawbacks to the device are it’s limited storage space (not enough room to store enough clips for addicts) and the absence of flash, which limits streaming capabilities. However, There are acceptable alternatives.
So how do you get porn on the iPad? Adult Entertainment giant Digital Playground has already announced that they will be providing iPad-optimized streaming on all of their company-owned websites such as digitalplayground.com and jessejane.com. Many other XXX sites provide mobile device-friendly streaming as well.
I choose to look at the positive: the iPad is smaller than a standard periodical. Hell, you could slide that thing into a respectable publication like Time Magazine or any newspaper, walk it into the bathroom with it under your arm in broad daylight, take that puppy out of stealth mode and then have your filthy way with it. I’m sure they’ll be plenty of protective casings available shortly after it’s release so you could “paint” your favorite starlet in ways you never thought possible.
Have we come full circle in the way that men can enjoy their porn in privacy? The only “bathroom” options in our fathers’ days were a magazine and a good imagination. Now you can tote an iPad into the restroom and you have a 9.7″ screen at your service… or you can round up like most guys and say you’re packing a full 10″.
Of course, there is the old-fashioned way of getting porn on your iPad… by moving your personal files onto the device through iTunes. The “legit” ways of getting most items on the iPad are Apple’s app store, iTunes and iBooks… none of which support adult content.
Although not made for porn (well, they haven’t admitted it if it was), I’m sure there will be websites dedicated to adult entertainment on the iPad. Users have always found a way to streamline devices for their own personal pleasure. Hell, no one has convinced me yet that the internet wasn’t invented for nothing more than porn-swapping and cybersex which incredibly spun off into something entirely different.
