Troubled alcohol drenched actor Rip Torn, has been charged with breaking into a bank and carrying a loaded handgun while intoxicated. Rip is currently on probation in a Connecticut drink-driving case. This wasn’t the Noisy Cricket from Rip’s movie “Men In Black” Rip was caught drunk with an actual firearm.
The Larry Sanders Show star was arrested after police found him inside the Connecticut bank, Litchfield Bancorp, with a loaded revolver, police confirmed
The 78 year old actor was taken into custody on Saturday and booked on charges including burglary and possession of a firearm without a permit. He was being held on $US100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bantam Superior Court on Sunday.
Now that the actor has violated probation and he also has two previous alcohol related arrests in New York jail time seem like it is certain.
It will be very difficult for an almost 80 year old man to defend himself in jail. Therefore if jail time does arise it will most likely be spent in protective custody. If the 78 year old is released into general population the words Rip and Torn would take on a whole new meaning.
