E.J. Manuel, the only quarterback selected in the first round of the 2013 NFL draft, is now officially an NFL QB. Late last week, according to FOX Sports, Manuel signed his $8.9M rookie contract that included a $4.84 million signing bonus. E.J. was selected with the Bills first pick and the 16th overall.
The Bills acquired Kevin Kolb in the offseason, so there is apparently an open competition between the two for the starting quarterback job. Even if E.J. Manuel doesn’t win the job out of camp, consecutive starts by Kevin Kolb without injury are rare, so he should be getting plenty of playing time in 2013.
Eight first round draft picks from the 2013 NFL Draft class have now signed their rookie contracts, with E.J. Manuel and Tavon Austin being the latest two.

E.J. Manuel Picked 16th Overall:
In an interview, E.J. Manuel stated that the Bills playbook is much easier to grab than Florida State’s… we’re not sure if that is a good thing or bad just yet.
