We are down to five contestants in our “First Picked/Last Signed Contest”. Yes, there are only five first round picks from the 2012 NFL draft class that have not signed with their respective teams yet. Those players are #4 Matt Kalil, #5 Justin Blackmon, #8 Ryan Tannehill, #11 Dontari Poe and #20 Kendall Poe.
The fifth overall pick by way of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Justin Blackmon, is in the news, but not because his contract talks are going so well. Last week, Justin Blackmon pleaded guilty to drunken driving in Oklahoma in a deal that would give him no jail time. Will the trouble delay his contract signing? That is up to you to decide in our contest. Enter Now!
Since the first three overall picks are all under contract, the most guessed player has been 11th overall pick of the Kansas City Chiefs, Dontari Poe. As of 2 hours prior to writing this, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported from the Chief’s training camp that Dontari Poe and the Chiefs are “not close” and Poe is not in camp.
Get your picks in now! To be eligible to win the contest, you just need to guess the player selected in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft who will be the very last to sign a contract with the team that selected him. You can enter every day until there is one draft pick left unsigned.
The contest will run until all but one players are signed, and that appears to be happening pretty quickly, so get your picks in now. For more information and details, visit the official contest entry page.
