New England Patriots WR Julian Edelman Could Be Shipped to The Packers

The last few days more and more information about Julian Edelman’s alleged sexual assault is surfacing. It seems Julian dressed as Lt. Jim Dangle from “Reno 911! decided to allegedly give a young lady an unwelcomed cavity search on a dance floor at a club in Boston’s Back Bay. After the alleged crotch grab high-jinks ensued and eventually the Wes Welker clone was thrown out of the bar and arrested.

The particulars of that arrest came to light when Julian was charged with indecent assault and battery. The alleged victim was not in court and has not been identified. So we are yet to see pictures of the victim leaked from her Facebook page or Twitter account. She has smartly lawyered up.

Timothy Bradl, attorney for the alleged victim, commented in reference to the alleged victim “she seeks neither publicity nor monetary gain, and she has no ulterior motives” and added his client whishes “that the legal process be allowed to take its course.” Read the rest of this entry »

Last Call – NFL Week 8 Expert Picks and Predictions Contest

Posted by Steve Tomassetti On October - 30 - 2011 ADD COMMENTS

This is your final notice to review our expert NFL week 8 picks and predictions and to enter your own so you can win some great prizes. At this point, with only a few hours left to go in week 8 voting. Right now there is only a single pick that is being disagreed with by the members, and only one other game is even remotely close per the voting.

Unless a flurry of confidence, and votes, comes in for the Steelers over the next few hours as they host the Patriots in Pittsburgh this afternoon, it looks like the Minnesota-Carolina game will be the only one in the balance. The House pick was that the Vikings would head into Carolina and beat the Panthers today. Obviously, the readers disagree as over 70% of votes like the home team. Read the rest of this entry »

Our Week 8 “expert” NFL picks and predictions have been posted and are available for your viewing pleasure on our “Beat the House” contest page. The Week 7 “Beat the House” recap is below.

After not even coming close to beating the readers in the first five weeks of the 2011 NFL season, there was a push in week 7 at 9 correct picks a piece. Finally, for the first time this season, the House defended it’s title and bested the membership in our “Beat the House” competition… barely.

By the smallest of margins, a half of a correct pick to be exact, the House won week 7. The half win came as a result of the Bucs-Bears games in London being a deadlock in voting at 50/50, therefore the members neither won nor lost the game. Read the rest of this entry »

Ok, there is a tight end joke in here somewhere, so maybe it’ll come to me by the end of the article. Anyways, New England Patriots’ tight end Rob Gronkowski has issued an apology after porn star Bibi Jones (not bebe or bb), who recently appeared on the Howard Stern Show, posted some pics of herself posing with Gronkowski on her Twitter feed. Gronkowksi repeatedly apologized for “hurting” the reputation of the Patriots and said that nothing else happened between the two beyond the photograph.

To quote Dr. Evil…. “Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight”

So, what is the big deal here anyway? A professional athlete is banging a hot chick. Gronk isn’t married so it’s not like he’s cheating or anything. I would understand why he would apologize in that case since it would be unfathomable to think that someone from the Patriots organization would cheat. Is it because he was with a porn star? Or is it because he was with a porn star who claimed on the Howard Stern Show last week that she Tweets out her location so guys can come and bang her? I still don’t see the big deal. As the NFL season approaches the halfway point, rookies around the league are making an impact. At quarterback, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft – Carolina’s CAM NEWTON – has excelled as a passer and runner. He is averaging more than 300 passing yards per game (300.4) and ranks second among all NFL players with seven rushing touchdowns.

Running back MARK INGRAM, a first-round pick (No. 28) by New Orleans, leads all rookies with 329 rushing yards. Dallas’ DE MARCO MURRAY, the team’s third-round selection (No. 71), rushed for 253 yards in the Cowboys’ 34-7 win over St. Louis, a single-game franchise record. AFC Rookies: Reaching New Heights

Posted by TMR Newswire On October - 26 - 2011 ADD COMMENTS

The future is bright for a cast of NFL rookies around the league. Making the transition from college to pro can be just as demanding mentally as it is physically. But year after year, rookies across the NFL emerge as key contributors.

Electronic Arts NFL Blitz Is Back (Trailer)

Posted by Jonah Falcon On October - 22 - 2011 ADD COMMENTS

Electronic Arts is working on a new NFL Blitz title, after acquiring the rights to Midway’s classic, arcade-style American football game. Since EA got an exclusive contract with the NFL, Midway struggled. The publisher attempted a license-less Blitz the League series, but it never took off.

An EA Tiburon-developed NFL Blitz revival was rumored last year, chiefly because one of the creators of the original game, Mark Turmell, was a member of the development house. However, Turmell left the developer, which ended the rumor at the time. Read the rest of this entry »

Our Week 7 “expert” NFL picks and predictions have been posted and are available for your viewing pleasure on our “Beat the House” contest page. The Week 5 “Beat the House” recap is below.

For the first time during the 2011 NFL season, the House wasn’t beaten. The House didn’t win, but it wasn’t beaten. In week 6, both the House and the Membership tied with 9 correct picks a piece. It was the Madden NFL 12 sim that fared the best last week, picking 11 of the 13 NFL games correctly.

It could have very well been another House defeat since the voting in the Washington Redskins – Philadelphia Eagles contest was so close, but the House pick of the Skins was agreed upon by a 50.3% majority. Read the rest of this entry »

Key Stats for NFL Week 6: What to Watch

Posted by TMR Newswire On October - 16 - 2011 ADD COMMENTS

SIX-AND-WHOA!: Tied atop the NFC North with 5-0 records, the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers are the last remaining undefeated NFL teams this season. If both win this Sunday, it would mark the second time since the divisional structure was implemented in 1933 that two teams in the same division started 6-0.

In 1934, Detroit and the Chicago Bears, then members of the NFL’s Western Division, each started 10-0. Chicago finished 13-0 before losing the 1934 NFL Championship game by a score of 30-13 to the New York Giants. The Lions (10-3) finished second in the Western Division. Read the rest of this entry »

The Buffalo Bills are Unstoppable in the Red Zone

Posted by TMR Newswire On October - 16 - 2011 ADD COMMENTS

Seizing every opportunity for success is a requirement in the NFL. That starts with scores in the red zone. “After turnovers, the red zone is probably the No. 1 statistic that correlates with winning and losing,” says New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.

Buffalo Bills head coach Chan Gailey, whose club has an NFL-best 75.0 touchdown percentage in the red zone this season, says the standard is reaching the end zone when inside the opponent’s 20-yard line.

“I can give you all the coaching clichés about that we work on it, we spend time on it and all that,” says Gailey, whose Bills take to the road to face the New York Giants in Week 6, who rank second to Buffalo with a 71.4 red zone touchdown percentage. Read the rest of this entry »

Last Call – NFL Week 5 Expert Picks and Predictions

This is your final notice to review our expert NFL week 5 picks and predictions and to enter your own so you can win some great prizes. At this point, with only a few hours left to go in week 5 voting, it looks like hardly any of the readers like the House pick of the New York Jets going into New England and beating the Patriots. So be it.

The pick of the Jags beating the Bengals looks like it will be a disagree as well. Two games are as close to 50/50 as you can get right now. The Eagles visiting the Bills and the Buccaneers in San Fran. The House picked the road teams in both of those games (Birds and Bucs) and apparently most readers who voted are torn on those picks. Al Davis: Raiders Owner and Football Legend Dead at 82

Posted by Bruce Owens On October - 8 - 2011 ADD COMMENTS

The Oakland Raiders website posted the birth and death dates of owner Al Davis roughly 20 minutes ago. There is no cause of death noted as of yet. Al Davis was one of the most colorful figures in the history of the game.

Al Davis was respected by his contemporaries for his vast knowledge of the game of football. He gave the city of Oakland 5 championship titles and 3 Superbowl wins with the Raiders. Al Davis is also the architect of the West Coast offence that is now used coast to coast in the NFL and has also been adapted to other sports.

Wikipedia is reporting Former Raiders quarterback, Ken Stabler, will give his eulogy. This tell us that Al Davis must have been battling some ailment and his death was not a surprise. This has been a rough week for the left coast with tech pioneer Steve Jobs passing earlier in the week and now the passing of a cornerstone of the NFL. Read the rest of this entry »
